Description
Build partnerships, engage volunteers and nurture volunteer and guest experiences at a humanitarian NGO. Lead and support the team in improving how we recruit regular volunteers and interns, potentially supervising interns and other volunteers. Liaise closely with Crossroads departments to understand their volunteer and staffing needs. Help shape recruitment strategy through insight, relationship-building, and practical ideas. Build and maintain partnerships with schools, companies, and community organizations. Be part of the welcoming face of Crossroads for volunteers, donors, families, beneficiaries, school groups, corporate groups, and other guests. Support the volunteer journey from first contact through to ongoing engagement, making sure it is positive, meaningful, and well organised

  • Crossroads is growing its volunteer community and needs a welcoming, organised person to help manage group bookings and guest services, ensuring volunteers and visitors have a smooth, positive experience from first contact through to placement and follow-up. The role supports a wider effort to strengthen volunteer engagement, improve operational consistency, and create a more supportive journey for individuals, regular volunteers, and groups. It also contributes to initiatives such as volunteer appreciation, feedback collection, and better coordination across departments so that every guest feels valued and well supported. To help a volunteer get started, we can provide a site tour of Crossroads, and a clear introduction to the department or role they’ll be serving in. We can also offer practical guidance such as what to expect on the day, how to check in and out, and who to ask for support if they have questions. Additionally, we provide access to a computer and a dedicated desk space to support their work and help them settle in comfortably. Volunteers will also be supported by approachable and experienced teammates who can guide them, answer questions, and help them feel confident in their role from the start.
