Description
This programme is generously supported by HKEX Charity Partnership Programme.
Description:
In this workshop, volunteers will learn how to become engaging storytellers and inspire a love of reading in children aged 6-10. By nurturing these storytelling skills, you'll foster stronger connections with kids and be well-prepared to apply what you've learned in future volunteer activities. Most importantly, you’ll help to enhance children's confidence and improve their English-speaking skills by encouraging active participation and self-expression in a supportive environment.
Your role as a workshop participant:
Volunteers will receive professional training in essential English storytelling skills, including selecting captivating stories, delivering them clearly, and communicating effectively with children. These transferable skills are vital for building connections with kids of all ages, while also creating opportunities to boost their self-esteem and language abilities through interactive storytelling sessions.
Opportunities after the workshop:
Upon completing the training, volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at the community centres. This experience will enable you to apply your newly acquired skills while making a meaningful impact in the community. A follow-up email will be sent to volunteers after the information session to complete their registration for the service sessions.
