Help at Redress Design Award 2026 Grand Final Fashion Show

Description: Did you know, every day Hongkongers throw 400 tonnes of textiles into landfill, most of which is recyclable. In fact, globally, only 1% of material used to produce clothing is recycled back into new clothes at the end of its use. Redress is a pioneering HK environmental charity working to reduce textile waste. Our programmes work to change mindsets and practices to stop the creation of textile waste now and in the future, as well as creating systems and partnerships that generate and showcase value in existing waste. Through our Clothing Collection Programme with retail brands, we aim to increase the re-sale, re-use and recycling of clothing, make extending the life of clothing transparent and easy for HKers, and redistribute clothing to serve the needs of HK charities and their beneficiaries. They are now looking for volunteers to support the organization of the Redress Design Award at CENTRESTAGE. The Redress Design Award is a worldwide sustainable fashion competition during which finalists designers will present their collections in a one day fashion presentation event. You can be part of a local circular economy, learn about the real waste behind the fashion industry and make a difference. Volunteer roles: Provide logistical support, manage the guest list, and serve as greeters/ushers. Dress code: Volunteers are required to wear an all-black outfit for the event, such as a black T-shirt with black trousers, or a comfortable black dress. Please wear comfortable shoes, as the role will involve some standing. All volunteers will be able to watch part of the runway show once the guests tasks are completed.
