Remarks
  • Motherhood, while rewarding, often comes with significant stress and challenges. For deaf mothers, these challenges can be amplified by communication barriers, societal misconceptions, and the unique demands of raising children in a hearing-dominant world. This can lead to feelings of isolation, exhaustion, and a diminished sense of self-worth. Aerial yoga, with its focus on gentle inversions, fluid movement, and body awareness, offers a unique opportunity for physical and mental decompression. Our project aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic space where deaf mothers can release stress, reconnect with their bodies, build confidence, and ultimately rediscover their intrinsic value, all through a visually-driven and accessible practice. A dedicated Hong Kong Sign Language interpreter will be present throughout every class to facilitate seamless communication between the instructor and the deaf mothers.Assistance with class scheduling, participant registration, and pre- and post-class communications. We will handle all participant recruitment and ensure a committed group of deaf mothers attends the sessions.
