Description
Co-design GIS-based projects that guide students to transform real datasets into insightful spatial analyses. Co-design "Before vs. After" problem statements using real urban datasets to help students identify community and environmental issues. Develop mock-up visualizations to guide student projects and tutorials. Test GIS tools and government datasets (e.g., QGIS) to ensure technical feasibility for analyzing air quality and urban amenities. Facilitate activities related to web mapping, presentation, and online data publishing . Mentor secondary student groups in using GIS (e.g., QGIS) to visualize urban interventions that promote Clean Air and healthier living environments. Provide technical support for spatial analysis linking environmental parameters to public health outcomes.. Offer feedback on project plans and presentations, evaluating how effectively students use data to justify their proposed community improvements. Document group outputs and assist in post-program wrap-up. July 10 (Friday), 7:00–8:00 PM: Facilitator Briefing on Programme Details (In-person attendance is preferred, but a virtual option is also available for those unable to attend) . Programme Delivery (August 3–6): Facilitate web mapping, visualization sessions during the internship week . For contingency purposes, please also reserve August 7 in case of extreme weather conditions

- The Clean Air Network Summer Internship Program 2026 is a 4-day immersive experience designed to empower secondary students to explore air pollution, technology, GIS, and data storytelling. Through hands-on workshops and mentorship, students will learn to visualize and publish data using tools such as QGIS, transforming complex data into meaningful stories that reflect urban and environmental challenges in Hong Kong. Programme Preparation in July, collaborate with the Clean Air Network team to finalize workshop materials, datasets, and student learning guides.
