LeadOn In-person Children Board Game Training Session

Description: In this session, we hope to train volunteers to get hands-on with our LeadOn Volunteer Leaders at board game-based service sessions for young children at our partner NGO centres. These sessions use the power of play to create fun, structured opportunities for social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and skills-building in areas such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. These innovative board game workshops support social connection, language development, creativity and confidence in children. Your role as a workshop participant: Volunteers will receive professional training in facilitating English board game activities, including selecting age-appropriate games, explaining rules clearly, and engaging children through interactive play. These transferable skills are essential for building rapport with children of different ages, while also creating a fun and supportive environment that enhances their language development, confidence, and social interaction through gameplay. Opportunities after the workshop: Upon completing the training, volunteers will have the opportunity to serve at community centres. This experience will allow you to apply your newly acquired skills in real settings while making a meaningful contribution to children’s learning and development. A follow-up email will be sent to volunteers after the information session to complete their registration for the service sessions. Remarks: Please sign up for any of the three sessions. The training contents are the same for the three sessions. All volunteers must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. Friends or family members who wish to join are warmly welcome—please ensure that each person registers and signs up separately.
