Be a Class Assistant for an Elderly Stretching Class

Description: Many elderly people in Hong Kong experience social isolation and a decline in physical mobility, impacting their well-being and independence. This activity promotes active ageing by providing a gentle stretching class that enhances both physical health and social interaction for older adults. As a Class Assistant volunteer, you will help foster a supportive, welcoming atmosphere that motivates seniors to remain active and engaged in their community. By participating in this activity, volunteers play a key role in reducing loneliness and enriching the lives of elderly participants. Your support will empower seniors to take part in the exercises with confidence, encouraging overall well-being and meaningful social connections. Volunteer Roles: Assist the instructor in guiding elderly participants through stretching exercises Provide encouragement and light physical support when needed Prepare and arrange equipment before and after the session Engage participants in friendly conversation to promote inclusion Remarks: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for light physical activity. Volunteers will attend a short briefing at the start of the session. All volunteers must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. Friends or family members must also register and sign up separately.
