Description
Project Change (full name: Nurturing Change Agents in Ethnically Diverse Communities),designed to empower young leaders from ethnic diversity backgrounds in Hong Kong.
Duration
11 months: January to November
(Leave will be granted to accommodate exam periods.)
Commitment
- 5 to 6 hours/week
- Activities include bi-weekly meetings, monthly training/legal clinics/community talks, and mentor group activities every 2 months, with some evenings and weekends.
Location
Activities will be held at Pro Bono HK’s Causeway Bay office, partner community centres, legal clinics, and law firms across Hong Kong.
Support
Participants will receive mentorship, training, and resources throughout the programme, with possible limited financial support for programme expenses.
Entry Requirements
- Open to individuals aged 18+ from ethnically diverse backgrounds in Hong Kong, especially those of non-Chinese origin identifying as Southeast or South Asian.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in another Southeast or South Asian language is a plus.
- Preference for disadvantaged individuals or those from low-income families without parents in the legal profession.
- Commitment to at least 80% attendance in core activities.
- Passion for community service and advocacy for equal opportunities.

- Sponsored by the HKEX Foundation, this unique initiative aims to bridge legal gaps, strengthen community leadership, and foster positive change, while providing direct support and legal literacy to ethnically diverse communities. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and invited for a short interview with our Programme Committee. For those committed to full participation (with at least an 80% attendance rate) in all core activities and events, volunteer service hours will be granted through Social Career.
