JCVT Support and connection for caregivers (Youth welcome)

"賽馬會眾心行善 JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER" Funded by: Description: Many of Hong Kong's citizens continue to suffer from the devastating impact of the pandemic, and ongoing needs within the community. Even before COVID 1 in 5 of our citizens was living in poverty, surviving on less than HK$4,000 each month. The endless daily routine forces the caregivers of children from low-income families to seek help from others to maintain their mental well-being by receiving care and support from volunteers spending time with them in the community. Volunteer roles: Volunteers will receive a short briefing upon arriving at the community centre. Volunteers will learn about how to communicate with the caregivers and reflect on the daily tasks and skills required for being a caregiver. The caregivers will bring volunteers for a short walk in the neighbourhood area so they can learn more about their community. After that, the volunteers will accompany the caregivers to shop at the wet market or supermarket to experience the daily tasks of the caregivers. Through chatting with the caregivers, volunteers will understand more about their daily routines and their challenges.
