Remarks
- Crafts on Peel is looking for cheerful, friendly and outgoing volunteers to support our craft-centric guided tours, with excellent communication skills and a desire to contribute to the community. All docents receive training from our curatorial team, so an art/craft background is not necessary. We empower our docents to help visitors attain a personal relationship with the craft and enable them to bring it into their lives. In addition, we provide an environment that is open-minded, flexible, and respectful of all differences so everyone can enjoy themselves. Other volunteer opportunities include supporting workshops and sponsored community events. Training will be provided before starting as volunteers. The bilingual content of exhibitions will be provided to volunteers. A glossary and previous bilingual exhibition brochures, together with the background of our organisation will be provided for reference. We envision that you will commit to volunteering at Crafts on Peel for four months after completion of training. Exceptions will also be made for special circumstances. Volunteers are encouraged to share insights and experiences about creating the best visitors’ journey with our curatorial team.
