組織簡介
鑑於當時學前弱能兒童的服務嚴重不足，一群家長團結起來，在八六年五月組成了「學前弱能兒童家長關注組」，策劃一連串行動向政府反映服務需要。關注組更於八七年二月正式註冊成為社團，並命名為「學前弱能兒童家長會」。二零零一年二月，家長會轉為註冊有限公司，使會務更有系統，管理工作更趨完善。本會為香港社會服務聯會會員，並曾於一九九三年六月獲得「傑出康復服務自助團體獎」。
一直以來，家長會貫徹各項宗旨，向有關當局爭取弱能兒童的服務。隨著家長與弱兒的成長，家長會除跟進學前、學齡及成人的服務外，亦關注與殘疾人士有關的法例，以及倡導家長積極參與推動政府改善服務質量的工作。
一九九六年，家長會獲房屋署批出鑽石山鳳德邨紫鳳樓一單位作為會址，同期獲「伊利沙伯女王弱智人仕基金」撥款資助本會兩年經費，家長會開始聘請職員協助會務。自1998年開始，家長會得到香港賽馬會慈善信託基金支持部份活動經費，與此同時，亦得到不同的基金贊助個別計劃的運作費，其餘經費則有賴熱心人士的捐助及機構籌募。
