You can only join this volunteering activity after registering on our website Breadline.hk. 1) Sign up Go to breadline.hk to sign up with your Google account Input your WhatsApp mobile number 2) Choose your run(s) Follow the prompts to choose the date(s) you want to run and tap on the pins to claim the shops you want to collect from. 3) Preparation for the day Bring your own bags to collect the breads. Two IKEA sized bags would be good, otherwise 4 or 5 normal reusable bags. 4) At the shop Arrive before the shop closing time Count and load the bread into your bags Record the bread amount on the Breadline app 5) Bring the bread to one of the designated Drop Points & report your name to our Manager More details are shared when you're registering through breadline.hk NOTES: - There is no meeting point/check-in time. Volunteers choose which shops they want to collect bread from and go directly to their selected shops (which have different closing times). - Breadline do NOT have a certificate or letter of participation for volunteers. - Please use the same name you registered with Social Career, otherwise it will be recorded as "Absent".

Everyday in Hong Kong, over 3,250 tonnes of food waste are dumped into landfills, while one in five people live in poverty and struggle to eat. Breadline is Hong Kong’s first public digital platform for food rescue. Volunteers connect with bakeries on Breadline.hk to rescue leftover bread using real-time updates to make every run count. Together, we save resources from being wasted and we support the homeless; low-income families; refugees and their children and the elderly poor, by delivering bread the same night to our grassroots partners. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible, independent and reliable. All volunteers are welcome though we strongly encourage return volunteers - why not make this meaningful run part of your routine? Breadline have grown from a small, four-friends activity to a large city-wide endeavour with 3 cars, 4 NGOs and 5 bakery chains, involving 170+ bakeries and thousands of volunteers.
