Remarks
  • CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) is now openly recruiting ‘Faces of Textile Culture’ (FTC). We invite interested individuals to join us in promoting the history and culture of Hong Kong’s textile industry, all while sharing the creative joy of textile art.Selected candidates will receive professional training. After passing an assessment, they will introduce textile culture to CHAT’s visitors starting from April 2026 by leading various activities, such as hand spinning demonstrations and ‘30-Minute Making’ sessions. CHAT is located at The Mills in Tsuen Wan, the former factory site of Nan Fung Textiles Limited. Through a diverse range of exhibitions and co-learning programmes, CHAT invites audiences to weave creative experiences, feel the innovative spirit of Hong Kong’s textile industry, and explore the immense potential and cultural depth of textiles, blending together contemporary art, design and heritage. CHAT will provide trainings for the volunteers on 24 Feb 2026 (Tues) and 28 Feb 2026 (Sat) from 2:30pm to 5pm at CHAT. FTC must attend the two training sessions. The CHAT team will also arrange the following training sessions and workshops for FTC on specific weekends. Exact date and time will be announced later. The trainings include textiles 101 (basic knowledge of textiles), social etiquette, expression, and communication skills, wellness workshops and gatherings. The CHAT team will individually invite shortlisted candidates for interviews in January 2026. Selected candidates must attend the FTC Training. After completing the training, they are required to pass a simple assessment in March to ensure service quality.
