Help at Sai Kung Kayak Cleanup

Description: Join Green Hour Foundation for a unique blend of adventure and environmental action in the stunning waters of Sai Kung! Paddle through Hong Kong’s most scenic coastline as we combine the joy of kayaking with meaningful coastal cleanup efforts. Volunteer roles: ​ Volunteers will gather at 9 am, giving us plenty of time to prepare for the kayaking to start at 9:30. You will enjoy a full day of fun, going on a journey around some of Sai Kung’s beautiful islands, rugged shorelines, and taking plenty of photos! Along the way, we’ll collect litter and help protect the marine environment, making a positive impact one paddle at a time. Requirements: Whether you're an experienced paddler or new to kayaking, this event is open to all skill levels. All equipment will be provided, and a cleanup guide will lead the way to ensure safety and fun throughout the trip. Important: By signing up for this event, you must be able to swim at least 100m in open water and follow our guide during the event to ensure safety. Things to Bring: 👕 Clothing & Gear Quick-dry clothes or swimwear, hat or cap, sunglasses with a strap, water shoes or secure sandals, towel, change of clothes 🥤 Food & Drink Refillable water bottle (1L+), light snacks, lunch ☀️ Sun & Weather Protection Sunscreen (reef-safe), waterproof phone case or dry pouch, rain jacket (optional) 🚫 Do NOT Bring Single-use plastics, large unsecured bags, flip-flops or loose footwear Remarks: This event has a minimum cost of $350, which covers both the kayak rental, admin fees and insurance. We welcome individuals to make an extra donation if they are comfortable to, as it will help support Green Hour Foundation's plan to organise kayaking events for free in the future for low-income individuals. In the case of bad weather on the day, we will reschedule this event to October 12th. Volunteers will receive a detailed service reminder email one day before the event. All volunteers must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. Friends or family members must also register and sign up separately. This activity is catered to individuals and families, not companies or schools.
