Description
Enthusiastic and patient GIS Workshop Tutor to deliver a hands-on QGIS workshop for Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 students. Deliver a fun, interactive, and beginner-friendly 1.5-hour QGIS hands-on workshop on "Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using QGIS". Teach foundational QGIS skills at a beginner-friendly pace, covering the QGIS interface, importing spatial data, basic map symbology and colouring, adding labels and simple styles, introducing basic spatial analysis tools (such as buffering and summarize within), creating clear and visually appealing maps, and exporting maps for sharing. Prepare clear, visually appealing PowerPoint slides and simple step-by-step exercises. Guide students patiently during hands-on practice and provide individual support. Keep the workshop engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate for teenagers. Ensure the content is simple, motivating, and not overwhelming within the 1.5-hour session. Participants: Approximately 25 Secondary 4 & 5 students + 5 mentors (Level: Complete beginners with almost zero QGIS experience)

- The Clean Air Network Summer Internship Program 2026 is a 4-day immersive experience designed to empower secondary students to explore air pollution, technology, GIS, and data storytelling. Through hands-on workshops and mentorship, students will learn to visualize and publish data using tools such as ArcGIS / QGIS, transforming complex data into meaningful stories that reflect urban and environmental challenges in Hong Kong.
