Bread Run Community Hub Leader: Info & Showcase Session (English)

Description Join Feeding Hong Kong to combat food waste and feed those in need! Every Tuesday and Thursday evening, partner bakeries donate unsold surplus bread across the city. To expand our reach, we are testing a new trial micro-hub and seeking passionate individuals to explore how they can support the next chapter of the Bread Run as Community Hub Leaders. This session is an Info & Showcase Session—a live, interactive preview of our micro-hub operations in action! Come down to meet our team, see how a hub functions on a run night, and learn what it takes to manage food collection and volunteer coordination. Following the session, interested participants can speak directly with our team to explore joining as regular shift leaders for our Tuesday and Thursday night runs. What You’ll Experience & Learn Live Micro-Hub Operations: Watch and experience firsthand how surplus bread is received, checked, and safely stored under proper hygiene standards. Volunteer Coordination: Learn how Hub Leaders welcome and coordinate "Bread Runners" as they arrive with donations. Impact Tracking: See how we log volunteer attendance, bread collection metrics, and records. Community Ambassadorship: Discover how to foster a warm, welcoming environment for our volunteer network. Who We Are Looking For English speakers Able to commit to at least one shift per week for a three-month period to complete training and build role familiarity Willing to work evening shifts on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays Remarks All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you for this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
