Mentor a primary school student through 8 activities and 6 growth tasks. Complete our online mentorship training course and attend 4 online mentorship training sessions on the 4 Saturdays of August 2026. Attend our group activities on 23, 30 August, 6 September, 24 October, 16 January, 20 February, 10 April, 26 June (can miss at most 1 session). Each addresses one of the IMPACT focus areas.. Meet with your mentee to complete the assigned mini growth task for that dedicated time period (each addresses one of the IMPACT focus areas). Report your interaction with your mentee to our staff regularly. Recruiting youth mentors aged 15-30

- The IMPACT Mentorship Program supports children and young people through sustained one-to-one mentoring and structured whole-person development. Building on more than seven years of programme experience, IMPACT pairs each mentee with a committed youth mentor who serves as a positive role model, trusted companion and source of encouragement throughout the programme year. Mentors accompany mentees in monthly group experiences and follow-up growth tasks designed to develop six essential areas: identity and purpose, mental wellbeing, awareness and empathy, communication skills, technology wellbeing, and problem-solving. Many children have limited opportunities outside school to explore these areas in a supportive and consistent relationship. Through shared activities, reflection and regular communication, mentors help mentees build confidence, express themselves, manage challenges, discover their strengths and develop a greater sense of responsibility toward others. Activities may include team challenges, STEM learning, life-planning workshops, emotional wellbeing activities, community service and a year-end celebration. We are recruiting responsible and compassionate volunteers willing to build a long-term relationship with a mentee, attend programme activities, complete assigned growth tasks together and communicate regularly with the mentee’s family and the EdQuity team. Volunteers should demonstrate maturity, patience, empathy, integrity and genuine commitment to supporting a child’s development. EdQuity provides a structured onboarding, training and support system so volunteers can begin their mentoring role with confidence. Before being matched with a mentee, mentors receive clear programme information, activity schedules, service guidelines and safeguarding expectations. They are also required to complete online mentorship training covering the purpose of mentoring, relationship-building, communication, motivation, appropriate boundaries and ways to support children through challenges. Discussion-based training sessions allow volunteers to apply these ideas to realistic mentoring situations and ask questions before the programme begins. Throughout the year, EdQuity provides detailed instructions, worksheets, activity materials and reflection templates for each group experience and growth task. These resources help mentors guide conversations, monitor progress and record key observations without having to design activities independently. Programme coordinators remain available through the programme’s main communication channels to answer questions, clarify expectations and provide timely support. Regular check-ins and progress follow-ups help identify difficulties early, while peer sharing allows mentors to exchange ideas and learn from one another’s experiences. EdQuity also communicates with parents or guardians when needed and provides guidance on scheduling, safety, confidentiality and professional conduct. This combination of training, practical materials and ongoing support ensures volunteers are never expected to manage mentoring challenges alone.
